Simple Things from Which You Derive Pleasure

Simple yet they give genuine pleasures
Mines are:
1. Blowing dandelion in the wind (only in spring though)
2. Watching the stars at night (go up the roofs to get a better view, dark winter sky is a very good background)
3. The smell of the wet earth after the rain
4. Watching raindrops fall from pine-needles
5. Gathering pine-cones & autumn leaves to decor my room (although they'll stay so only for a few days)
6. Going bare-footed on the dewy grass (not often as I don't normally get up before 11.30 :o)
7. Chubby babies in their prams ::waw::
8. Green apples with the faintest red-blushes
9. Pink rosebuds
10. Old churches in the countryside & graves in their yards
11. The toll of churchbells
12. Rainbow
13. Swing on the playground
14. Wooden bridge over running water
15. White fenced cottages with herb gardens
16. Shops with arched windows
17. Goldfish pond
18. Soft pillows ::sleep::
19. Lollypops
20. Sitting in the sunshine & reading an interesting story & eating fruitdrops

1. gaze at the rain when it falls down from the sky
2. go out at night and look at street lights lining up like fireflies.
3. sit on the bed with a book in hand and a hot cup of coffee on the bedside table.
4. playing with snow.
5. cuddle up in the arms of a loved one.

Then you never went up the roofs? What a pity! You don't know what you missed then. When I was little I sometimes had a picnic up there. It was forbidden of course, but that only added to the thrill of it :D The food never tasted nicer than when you had it up there (even simple food became special when you had it on the roofs). On the whole I think going up the roofs was a treat to me because I knew I would get told off if I was caught (if my parents had just allowed me, then it wouldn't have been exciting).

Gue bawa buku 5 & semuanya gak berhubungan dgn conference :D
Yg bagus ada juga sich misalnya ttg literature buat anak-anak ex-pat yg 'idup di negara laen (kebanyakan ttg org-org Black yg tinggal di Britain, aslinya pan mereka org Caribean), themenya ttg postmodernism in children's literature kok! Ngebahas juga alternative children's literature kayak manga, playstation, termasup juga CDrom, etc., but gue banyakan cabutnya sich jadi ya yg terkesan malah jalannya daripada conferencenya! :D

Banyak lagi! Scotland pan emang gudangnya legends, sagas, & fairytales. Gue sempet beli buku "Tamlane, or Never Let Go My Love", 'ntar kapan-kapan gue ceritain deh! Insya Allah!
Scotland tuh tanahnya berbukit-bukit. Di tengah kota aja org musti anek turun tangga buat pergi ke suatu tempat. Pemandangannya bagus bener deh! Kalo gak lagi berkabut, but kalo lagi berkabut justru menambah kesan mysteriousnya. Kebayang gak gunung-gunung yg hijau & laut yg biru trus sayup-sayup terdengar Scottish air dimaenin pake bagpipe?

Holy Island itu di Lindisfarne. Pulau tersendiri yg terpisah dari Britain (punya UK juga sich!).
Scottish air emang berkesan sedih mungkin karena org-org Scottish (Celt) tuh dari dulu menderita m'lulu. Mula-mula diusir oleh Romans, kemudian oleh Saxons, trus oleh Normans. Sebetulnya ethnic yg mendiami Britain mula-mula pan org Celt.
Eh, Scotsmen itu gede-gede macam Obelix gitu lah! Serasa jadi Lilliput di negerinya Gulliver deh!

disitu kan digambarin si mermaid rambutnya panjang gelombang berkilauan bagai emas.. hmmm anak peranakan celte kali yeee jadi udah kecampur² ...:D..

Sometimes I need to travel a long way & often the train is very crowded & so I have to stand all the way. I'll really appreciate somebody generous enough to give up his/her seat for me if they happen to travel only a short distance. That's very considerate of them.
