might want to reboot your modem and router if you use cable/dsl.
i've had that before. Sometimes they got a little maintenance to do, so... that might be the cuz.

yeah dude, been livin here 3 yrs now. a little cold, alright. But
i started to get used to it. A bit muggy and rather humid maybe because of those lakes around. MN has ~10,000 lakes. The weather and

No... what made you think of that? ::hhh::
I'm currently working. I've been working with fashion magazines for about a year now. But I'm also a furniture designer and a trading company partial manager and one or two part timer.
I'll be on my freshmen year this year, design major. I was supposed to be graduated from my high school this September, but I skipped my high school and hit on the career track to gain some experience.
So yaah... it's a bit complicated.
Anyway, I'm also a novelist, to write a book you must know a lot of things, don't you? :D
9thmalice_vex
13-03-2006, 09:15 PM
jojox:
whew.....it does actually. You get more 'chaos' in junior high than in college :D
jojox
14-03-2006, 04:34 AM
@ Leluna, whoaaa... that should be enough to keep you busy, eh? :D
i thought you already started your freshman yr in college/univ. but..umm
that's actually great too', exercising some multi-tasking managerial skills, writing skills, communication skills... by the end of college I bet you'd have a rich-capstoned resume. *thumbs up*
novelist + humanity = sassy ;p
so..umm.. did you say u'd go to college in Spore or AU?
@ 9thmalice_vex,
yeah dude, man..once you step in college,
you'd be craving your way out just to
do some crazy stuff. Life gets faster and
you can't outrun it, it's always quicker
on the other end. there's much competition that requires above-average-brain-productivity, and
therefore leaves little room for friends and social acquantainces to play.
so there, I got stuck in between, missing
out my youth. I certainly think aging has taken its toll on me. :D
so here's a chip of wise but not wishful say to you 9thmalice_vex; enjoy whatever u have now while you are at it.

I have seen similar kind of signatures like this more than once
What's the deal people having such signatures? Has internet become more and more strict about 'you must represent fact, not your opinion' ?
9thmalice_vex
14-03-2006, 07:57 PM
opinions are always original, but I think what he meant to say is (to me)= the above post is my opinion to reply to the topic, so don't refute it with facts because that's what I think and I have the right to do it.
E121F
15-03-2006, 01:35 AM
if no one can refute one's word with fact, then doesn't it imply "I don't care about the truth and my words are not for debate" ?
jojox
15-03-2006, 05:45 AM
lol, actually that disclaimer was meant to reduce bias of whatever topics I discuss.
For every post I made, I dont mean to offend or
discredit anyone, but I may challenge the other side of the coin being blinded with stats or negligence . Just so you know..
E121F
15-03-2006, 09:50 AM
so is that what really meant?
jojox
16-03-2006, 01:58 AM
yeah, somewhat;
i thought my disclaimer is pretty much self-explanatory but yeah
what im trying to say is that : "dont take everything for granted,
dont have to believe my argument and rationale, so there's no need to criticize my post and dispute the numbers or pretense i used. Therefore it would save time and effort in learning process.
Yeah, it's true that this disclaimer is a warrant for my intellectual
protection.
I figured when people throwing ideas and formulated bipartisan
opinion as in YHSI, a little disclaimer like this is pretty handy you know. Some users have tried to dispute my comments, and I just needed
to point their noses down here, 2 inches below my last lines.
:D
They read, digested, and the dispute done, no further questions.
although sometimes it is very tempting to further down the issue,
it's just I may not have much time to attend the discussion, besides, most of the dispute i've had were ad-hocs and alikes. so.. forget it. :o
Meanwhile, the truth itself never stood absolute, it passed and , according to Nietzhe and me, stuck at some point of relativity. So, it's not that I dont care about the truth, it just the truth tends to
devise its way to a common avenue where we could either ratify
or agree upon. It is relative and subject to personal and external factors of which none seemed to successfully retain its perfection.
would that answer you queries?
E121F
16-03-2006, 03:22 AM
somewhat...
I myself prefer to give a politically correct opinion though, rather than just some random experience of mine
jojox
16-03-2006, 05:32 AM
yeah, i seldom feel likewise, being politically correct may satisfy
many perspectives but I dunno, i tend to be more personally aware toward things that may affect immediately to my state of mind. It's like I would think on personal scale and work my way out to reach the outer scale; social scale or else and make up my own, deliberated, personally biased, limited, but strong (in some ways) proposition. I've been contaminated with Toulmin's model of
argument and John Dewey's curriculum, so... yeah, that's where
im coming from. How bout you? How do you reason in approaching an issue?
E121F
16-03-2006, 01:10 PM
well
logic is everything to me
I'm trying to say something as consistent as I can.
Most of the time, I don't say something to make it sounds like an absolute truth. That is, I use 'may' , 'might' , 'can be' , 'perhaps' , and some words along that lines. Unless something is what people call as 'paradigm', I'll use those words instead of 'is' and 'are'.
well, in the other hands, most of my words also have no strong implication which may not help people answering their question ^^;
*see? I use 'may' up there lol*
jojox
17-03-2006, 04:16 AM
yeah , i m seeing the same thing too,
consistency, logic and rational thinking are necessary and taken quite seriously in my field which based mostly in science; ecology.
So.. yeah, im used to it.
That brings me something, what r u digging now? I dare not to
even throw a wild guess. ;p

aah i c,
simple plan isnt too bad I think,
in fact, i'd probably would go to their gig than going to that Charlotte's . but it's just me thinking that..
my tolerance to rock and progression is getting better now,
i used to dislike them cuz they were loud, big-bang-corny-hair etc. but the whole metal distortion
grabbed my guts and just wickedly twisting em over. This' something i've never had. I think i can use something like this.
So i did some little happy joint stuff like Weezer and System of Down. They re just so much fun to listen to... :D
xnuckingfutsx
21-03-2006, 01:53 PM
actually, I consider Simple plan's music as pop, I used to dislike rock too, but then I found myself enjoying the music of limp bizkit and linkin park, although not all of the song... I think Weezer's cool, but I don't like SOAD, they're too noisy for me :(

I recall the genre of SP was alternative rock?
I love classic rock,
such Death Cab for Cutie.
They're r.a.d
esspecially the song Transatlanticsm, it's so beautiful I can't get it off my head after listening to the exact same song for over three months now. I'm easily bored, this is a bit unusual.
Jo: no idea where I'm about to go.
Anyway, if I may ask,
do you know Gigantes? Was it a brand of cigs or pipe?
I've never seen the real thing :D
jojox

gigantes?
i dont recall any Gigantes cig, i thought they were more like little cigars, but im not sure. My supervisor did mention that brand,
he's been smoking cigars (capone and alikes) for years.
i particularly dont find it economical, yes, they cost more :(
only on some occassion I grabbed (black and mild) middleton cigars. im planning to cut some slack this month, there's a
a voucher worth of $3000 to be drawn for those who quit smoking
for the whole month of April, So...im chipping in!!

uncommon in conversation

As far as I know American use the MM/Date/Year setting, whilst UK or Australia use Date/Month/Year.

Franky as Franky Sihombing, no?
havent followed him much lately, used to like his music, dunno if he still keep everything real.
Kinda sad to know that some of gospel groups swung back to secular label as they failed to reconcile differences like One-Way.
the way I see it, they should not take the advantage of even lining up for dove awards just to get their feet on the door of major label. That's just some moral issue that christians should not overlook.

True. Agreed.
But, however, a thing that does not sell in these days community, would never off popular, thus, will never be acknowledged.
The commerce part, I guess, add still a much good aspects on the religion itself.
So, not to be satirical from my very first line, I guess there’s still ounce of goodness on it, despite of how mocked-ever that could be.

@ leluna,
yeah, there's no doubt gospel music is part of the music industry.
it was pretty clear when One-way's bass player suggested that there was a fine indellible line between secular and gospel in the industry. And often, new breeds got tangled in between. Even he told me personally, the argument was conservatively either-or: either you go for secular or gospel. should anyone lingers in between, he/she is a freemover secular. As to speak, he now plays for Rio Febrian. Consistency, that's what i argue although it turned out that he preferred to make $$ in secular gigs. the focus changed 180 degree, and it frustated me much to know that, since he used to lecture me on gospel musicianship/stewardship. we used to work for the same Boss, but i just have to ask whom he serves nowadays. if i were to dig in the music industry, i'd rather be a woed-secular playing "amazing grace" on 12-bar-blues. being secular is much safer anyways, we dont get much pressure from churchgoers saying this and that.
;p
mr. X, have you been to a black church?
that's the bomb, Golly, it'd rock you from top to the very bottom.
You oughta sing even when u aint know none of em songs.
I like em southern gospel songs, unbelivably charismatic. you just
can sense how strong and magnificient the progressive tunes, stimulating intervals, and the backbone-choir.
i'd no idea what's gotten in them, but it seems to me they're always on fire.

of time arguing some unnecessary S8 ... so, i didnt think it was a very effective.
having gone to some job interview, now i learned
that what the interviewers wanted to know was basically
that we could do the job, so I tempted to refresh them with
technical stuff, some job experience, and things that i've learned,
be that some managerial skills, communication skills, and how
I'd do the job itself. And always sounded and looked interested
to the position, I didnt bluff when I told them that I had very
little direct experience regarding the position but I did show
interest in learning and training. just yesterday, I got a call from
them saying they're offering that job contingent to my background check.... (sweet, good thing I got no file with local authorities).

Sometimes when I read or speak too much, my accent will pop unconsciously. It's a bit hard speaking to mostly american-chinese accented people in my neighborhood while I'm speaking in british accent.
It's driving me half mad, because everytime I need to get serious, my accent will come inevitably and they won't understand the fast-paced thick-accented words I'm speaking. To reduce the miscommunication, I have to speak in singlish or chinese-american accent sometimes. But that makes my tongue tangled. Urgh that sucks big time...

singlish accent also sounds a bit funny on my ear too ;p

geez i wonder why im being so poetic today....
jojox
02-05-2006, 04:38 AM
poetic.. huhuhuhuh...
im running out of that ink.
;p
you know, when you just totally got immersed to the depth of fiction
and literature and the whole nine yards, and suddenly things
seemed so dull and you started loosing the ability to digest
the understatement and the glorious, exciting plot.
and whammmed, you found yourself null at any levels.
I think, i got that whammed, and reading just never seemed to
interest me much ever since... this why, i kinda want to pick
that mood again with Da vinci code,
do you guys think i ought to start with some easy-wheezy novel first??

if I were in your shoes, I would read something different than fiction, maybe some kinda science book or something, and after I got bored with it, I'd find interest in reading fictional books again ;p

rite... rite...
im reading Rachel Carlson's-Silent Spring- now, dunno why my prof picked this book for our final exam. It seems okay, understandable. I thought it'd be
so hard-core-bookishly-scientific (DDT/pesticides), but it turns out rather
soft and enjoyable.

let's change the topic, what do you guys think about [KG]'s new layout?
for me, it seems so much like mbuzz (http://www.mbuzz.net)

feels OK to me...
but better if KG upgrade the server...
it's still so unacceptably laggy from outside connection

i like it.
the good:
- you can view attachments without downloading
- the rep system
the bad:
- seems a bit slower than the old one
- it's in indonesian - 'ubah penanda' :D
9thmalice_vex
08-05-2006, 04:17 PM
the layout looks much more nicer, but you still have to get used to some of the new features.
the loading time is a bit slower.
Overall, an acceptable upgrade, but I think it needs to give more easier access to those outside indonesia, like jojox said....

oh noesss
it becomes orange again
rep power is something like , people rate you up because you made some useful/informative posting. that's what usually goes in other forums that use rating system
jojox
10-05-2006, 04:42 AM
i can dig this.
it's just that the space for signature really bugs me, ... it's like coming right at you...Wham!
wish i can use smaller font for my signature, that'd probly would ease this sore eye.
so is the rep-rate mandatory or voluntary?
xnuckingfutsx
10-05-2006, 08:51 AM
hmm, and I only got 2 rep power... nah, I'm not a good user anyway ;D
9thmalice_vex
10-05-2006, 04:49 PM
well, the more you post something nice/good, the more you get those rep points,. it's simple, really, also a good way for people to acknowledge you :)
AnaSoe
10-05-2006, 05:28 PM
So, the Rep power is rated by another user? how to rate them then?? Ahh so confused me %hmm
9thmalice_vex
10-05-2006, 06:41 PM
you see that little balancing thingamajigamabob? beside the sphere for indicating online/offline status? click it on a post that you think is good, informative, or even, bad, or perverting, etc, and then tell your reason why you aprove or disapprove, let's say for example, one of mr X's posts.
xnuckingfutsx
11-05-2006, 07:39 AM
oic, hmmm... can we click on our own postings? *narcist.com* ;D

So, the Rep power is rated by another user? how to rate them then?? Ahh so confused me %hmmyeah, so when for instance someone posts a cool video that you haven't seen and you really like it, you usually post something like this: "wow, cool vid dude, i haven't seen this one. she is HOT! +rep!". then you click the scale icon on the bottom left corner of the post, and tick 'i approve', then you sign the comment with something like "excellent vid -dragunova". then that person gets a rep point. and when someone's got a lot of rep points, their green boxes will increase. and the more rep points you get, your rep power will increase.
rep points and rep power aren't the same thing. i think that's how it goes. cause i havent seen the 'rep power' thing in other forums. just the green and red boxes.
oic, hmmm... can we click on our own postings? *narcist.com* ;Dno i dont think so ::angel2::
does anybody know how to add bad rep? i cant seem to find it..
