I mean, with just people to talk, play scrabble together, discuss over issues, divulging dreams over coffee or something. :D But, apparently, my school thought (And still think), that English club is found to teach student about Debating, speech, and all things for competition, so it could helps out to increase achievements of our school.

Yeah, sure, i agree. But, it's just another think i fought with. Actually, i disagree with the idea that puts English as an object of competition. Of an object of exhibition. Okay, it's nice to achieve many, during your academic year.But, i don't know, i just don't agree if that become the only reason to learn english. What about the first essence? That english are your ticket for the world. I know. I know that i'm not a high-achiever or something. I have never, even attending, a speech competition or something. All i have did is just a spelling bee competition, (and that doesn't even counted as achievement in my school ::hihi::), but still, i love english. I love being a part of community that do too. And i love to see everyone is having fun with it around.

well, I consider both as a mean to be good in english..
your way is the casual way, learning english through everyday activities and social relationships
meanwhile, the school thinks that competing in debate, speech etc is the way for the students to learn english..
for me, I prefer the first one, you're going to get used to speak english in public..
besides, you can practice how to speak fluently also

yesterday I just saw this english debate competition.. even if their points is organized and have solid arguments, they're not fluent, and their accent is terrible..
